Message from Adviser

I am always happy to see young leaders like you accomplish all your plans for your office and constituents.

Leaders who are passionate, sincere, loyal and honest are output oriented. I have seen it in your batch, 2015-2016.

Rarely I express appreciation and when I say it I do mean it. In my experience as leader, I did my best thou I didn't know if it was the best to our constituents when I served SSCT SSG in 2007-2008 as Vice President and Secretary in the next academic year, I mastered two aspects, first was the transformational leadership with various field communication and second was the technical writing which is vital in organizational management. That's why I keep on reminding you on submission of reports.

All in, I will always treasure our moments in waving victorious programs, projects and activities which are mandated by the Department of Education.

I hope to advise you always but the cycle of life permits us for a year only.

Twas a year of superb success!

Sincerely,

FTAP

Alegria NHS Learning Shed Project

Learning Shed Project of Matinao National High School

Mainit, Surigao del Norte

Learning Shed is believed by many educators and researchers as one of the best remedies in solving the problem of the students which is uninterested to learn caused by lack of student learning centers where they can gather, stay, and mingle to discuss various topics of interest.

Learning Shed is an alternative area where teaching-learning process will be facilitated. A place where students can freely discuss interesting topics which are practical to their social, emotional and intellectual aspects.

According to the teachers of Matin-ao and Mainit National High School, this learning shed has accommodated a number of concerns specially during monthly events like Nutrition Month and Linggo ng mga Wika. Now that they have this learning shed, they no longer need to build temporary sheds during the said events. The nurses added, they even had accomodated in the learning shed students who were not feeling well. During recess and lunch, students stay in their respective learning shed to settle down and eat.

This Learning Shed Project of Alegria National High School has short-term and long-term objectives. The former objective is focused solely in the development of the learning infrastructure which is expected to concretize the latter:
1.      develop learning interest in students who are uninterested to learn in school,
2.      build alternative learning area where teaching-learning process can revolve,
3.   build a learning shed where Alegrianons will always remember the benevolence of the individual/group that leads to the educational prosperity of the young Alegrianons.

Thus, the General PTA, Faculty, Staff and Administration of Alegria NHS ask for your financial assistance to realize this educational project.

Your donation will never be wasted. Donate now for the brilliant future of the young Alegrianons.

World Bank visits Alegria National High School

October 09, 2014 -- The World Bank went to Alegria NHS, Surigao del Norte to investigate on various concerns in education and K-12 implementation specifically on Learning, Equity, and Accountability Program Support Project (LEAPS) which is a US$300 million worth of loan granted by The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors to the Department of Education.

“Through LEAPS and with the help of World Bank, DepEd [Department of Education] will be able to advance the basic education agenda of the government. To deliver quality education, we need to empower not only our learners, but also our teachers,” said EducationSecretary Bro. Armin Luistro. “LEAPS will strengthen accountability and incentives for teachers; improve teaching and learning in early grades, especially in reading and math; and address the needs of our disadvantaged learners,” The World Bank published.

The Supreme Student Government Officers as the representatives of the main stakeholders of Alegria NHS did not hesitate to inform The World Bank investigation team of the many problems encountered especially in learning materials, instructional materials and other things which are vital in teaching-learning process.

Real situation had been shared by the student representatives to the investigating team headed by Lynnette Perez.

Though problems were delineated, the SSG Officers did not forget to mention their best practices which cope with the experienced difficulties, one of is the peer tutoring and intensifying of seminars which address the problems on bullying, hazing, sexual abuse, exploitation, child abuse, racial discrimination and even VAWC.

The investigating team as per Mr. Tabamo, the SSG President, were amazed of what they have learned from them. "We did not intend to amaze them, we just spoke of what is apparent and what we contributed for the betterment of our beloved Alegria NHS."

The faculty as well shared their best practice of spending personal money, aside from adopting student or even students, just to beautify their respective classrooms and attain the best homeroom as learning environment where students will enjoy learning.

"That is very well true to teachers situation until now, it's nice to hear but that is not suppose to be." Sir Leo Go of DEPED Central.

Teachers are happy sharing everything to the investigation team.

The investigation was concluded with A Thank You song rendered by the teachers.
