DIVISION MEMORANDUM

2014 SSG DIVISION WIDE CONGRESS (DWC)

To:       Assistant Superintendent
            Education Supervisors/ Coordinators
            Secondary School Heads
            Heads, Private Secondary Schools

1.       DEPED Order No. 49, s. 2011, mandates the establishment of the Federations of SSGs in the Division, Regional and National levels as ready mechanisms for student consultations and as sources of feedback and policy recommendations on issues and concerns that affect them.

2.       This SSG Division Wide Congress aims to develop and or enhance the management and leadership knowledge, skills and attitudes of the elected SSG Officers. Further, the following are the specific objectives;
(a) Expose student leaders to various leadership concepts and models and to different leaders and personalities in politics, religion, business and the academe to give them wide image and example in their leadership role;
(b) Discuss issues and concerns on SSG Mandated Activities;
(c) Help student leaders understand the complexities of leading and managing the SSG in their schools;
(d) Understand and adopt relevant courses of action in response to new, evolving and emerging roles and functions of the SSG;
(e) Formulate and device a dynamic, feasible, doable and concrete action plans for implementation in the schools;
(f) Harness the potentials of the SSG Officer to encourage vibrant and participative studentry for school and community development and as an effective partner to achieve quality education and academic excellence;
(g) Learn and apply Parliamentary Procedures, Asian Parliamentary Debate and Adjudication;
(h) Share with other participants highlights of best practices in running the SSG;
(i) Elect the Division Federation Officers of SSG for School Year 2014-2015.

3.       Attendance of the participants from public schools shall be on Official Business, required 5 SSG Officers and 1 Adviser.

4.       Six Hundred Pesos Only (P600.00) to cover meals as specified, kits and other collaterals, certificates and honoraria of speakers and facilitators. SSG Officers registration fee will be charged against SSG Developmental Fund or sourced out from benevolent private organizations that are willing to donate and Adviser(s) registration fee will be charged against MOOE.
·         To cover 3 Meals and Four Snacks;
o    Day 1 (August 22) Welcome Dinner
o    Day 2 (August 23) AM Snacks/ Lunch/ PM Snacks
o    Day 3 (August 24) AM Snacks/ Lunch/ PM Snacks

5.       Accommodation, Alegria National High School is the main and free accommodations of the event for 2 nights and 3 days.

6.       All school heads/principals are encouraged to send their participants to this 2014 DWC, participants are required to pre-register on or before August 20, 2014.

7.       Participants are required to confirm their participation by sending the Pre-Registration Form (PRF) to alegrianhs_ssg@yahoo.com.ph or to Alegria National High School, Alegria, Surigao del Norte and text 09096804546 for more details.

8.       Teacher-adviser participants shall have leave credits for weekend services in this congress and student participants shall have points in co-curricular aspect in accordance with related DepEd Orders.
